Ski & Board storage allocation

Due to increasing demand we now must adopt a formalised system of annual allocation of boat storage places to ensure we are able to support both current active users and long term supporters of the club. The club has selected the priority of allocation as follows:


Priority


Skis:

  1. Competitor who will compete in either State Champs or Aussies – U17 to Open Category

  2. Life Members who paddle frequently

  3. Masters Competitor who will compete in either State Champs or Aussies

  4. U15 Competitor who is paddling at least once per week preparing for next seasons competition

  5. Coaches who use skis (this can be either Sweeps who paddle frequently or Craft Coaches)

  6. Club Members who paddle at least once per week out of club

  7. Club Members


Boards (U14s have their own area and don't need to apply):

  1. Competitor who will compete in either State Champs or Aussies – U15 to Open Category

  2. Life Members who board paddle frequently

  3. Masters Competitor who will compete in either State Champs or Aussies

  4. Coaches/ trainers who use boards (this can be either Sweeps who board paddle frequently or Craft Coaches)

  5. Club Members who board paddle at least once per week out of club

  6. Club Members

 

Allocation will progressively be applied from the 1st priority to 7th priority for skis and 1st to 6th priority for boards. Should there be more demand than places available then a ballot system will be adopted to determine who is eligible. It must also be noted that other long term services to the club will be considered when determining allocation, an option will be provided for members to advise based current/ past contributions to put their case forward – determinations of these cases will be made by the ABSLSC board.


This process will be applied in July/ August every year to ensure ski allocation is aligned with current users/ competitors in the club.

 

Applications can be made either by:


Timing for allocations

 

  • Week commencing Monday 14th July – Applications open

  • Sunday 27th July – Applications close

  • Allocation published Wednesday 30th July (both digitally and allocation label added to each rack)

  • All skis/boards removed Sunday 3rd August and arranged as per allocation – sticker to be added to each ski/board confirming allocation.
